Berengere Lambert

Megan Elliott & Aileen Prendergast | 01 Mar 2020

Berengere Lambert

Secretary General at Des Notaires Associés

Why we chose Berengere

Berengere has a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to the workplace. She’s cultivated her self-discipline to deal with challenges and manage teams successfully, and is a big advocate for success at work being about merit, not gender.

What’s your ‘why’? How do you balance work and life responsibilities to fulfil it?

Learn to practice self-discipline – determination in women is often perceived as aggressiveness and we can be more likely to forgive a moment of anger or weakness from a man. You have to remember this sense of self when leading a team – be yourself but also be in control.

Can you explain an initiative you've implemented that has made an impact in your workplace?

Not really, I don’t reason in these types of terms. For me, the world of work is about merit, not about gender. It’s about equal work with no discrimination.

As a female leader, what have been the most significant barriers in your career?

Work-life balance is essential when it comes to progressing in your career. At times in my career, I had to take a step back as I had to focus on other responsibilities, it's impossible to keep all the plates spinning at all times. For me, it’s been about making a choice and having priorities. My journey, like many other people’s, has not been a straight path. In fact, this is what has made it more fulfilling.
