Perkbox’s mental health services achieve national recognition for the second consecutive time
Perkbox’s in-house Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and Secondary Mental Health Services have once again received national recognition, achieving the prestigious APPTS mark of approval - the highest level of clinical accreditation in the UK.
This marks the second consecutive time that Perkbox’s mental health services have been awarded APPTS accreditation, reaffirming the organisation’s ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, safety, and high-quality care.
The APPTS (Accreditation Programme for Psychological Therapies Services) is delivered in partnership with the British Psychological Society and the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It recognises the exceptional standards of care, governance, and continuous improvement demonstrated by Perkbox’s services, which include counselling, secondary mental health support, and a wide range of wellbeing initiatives for employees.
The accreditation follows a rigorous and independent audit, during which trained reviewers from the Royal College of Psychiatrists assessed every aspect of service delivery, from clinical practice and governance to stakeholder engagement. The review included focus groups with staff, clients, and other stakeholders, as well as detailed evaluation of evidence and outcomes before making the final accreditation decision.
Tracey Paxton, Clinical Director at Perkbox, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded APPTS accreditation for the second time running. This recognition is testament to our team’s unwavering commitment and passion for delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient care. It also provides reassurance for clients and their employees, knowing that our services consistently meet the highest national standards. A huge well done to all the team who deliver this important and much-needed support every day.”
Tracey continued:
“The accreditation holds tremendous value because it takes into account the voices of stakeholders, including past and present clients. We are dedicated to continually improving the quality and impact of the service we deliver, and this repeat accreditation reflects the clinical excellence and integrity at the heart of our EAP and Secondary Mental Health Services.”
The APPTS accreditation is valid for three years, with annual interim reviews to ensure services remain aligned with best practice and continue to deliver outstanding standards of care.
This achievement underscores Perkbox’s mission to champion mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, offering accessible, clinically assured support that makes a tangible difference to employees’ lives.
