With a turnover just short of £7 million a year, PossAbilities is owned by it’s members and put’s all of it’s surpluses back into making it’s services better. It seems to be working. They were inspected by the Care Quality Commission in October 2015, and rated OUTSTANDING, a great accolade as only 1% of organisations ever achieve this.
Chief Executive, Rachel Law said “We already offer one of the best packages in the industry. Our marketplace is becoming extra-competitive and we know that times have been hard for everybody including our brilliant staff. We are always looking for ways to show that we do care. We’ve introduced a staff awards dinner for unsung hero’s and heroine’s; a duvet day if you go a year without taking a sick day; we are building a Wellbeing Garden on a one acre plot. So Perkbox seemed a natural extension to what we have been doing. It’s a scheme that fits well with our values too – we believe in being creative and having fun, and Perkbox gives us lot’s of opportunities to do that as work colleagues or with our family and friends”.
PossAbilties uses Yammer to allow staff to communicate internally, and it wasn’t long before Perkbox started to be talked about. Clare Ogden, Unit Leader in day services Yammered: “I am receiving lots of positive feedback from staff teams regarding PERKBOX. I've used quite a few of the offers myself from it including the mobile phone insurance, cinema tickets and tastecard. I've installed the app and its really easy to use. What a great "perk" !!!!!"
Rachel Law added “A year is a long time, and it’s inevitable that we are all going to have a bad day from time to time. My antidote for a bad day at the office is to gather the family around and see what falls out of our Perkbox. Give yourself a treat and get ready to go back into the fray. We are a perky lot here at PossAbilities so Perkbox has fitted in very nicely”.
